A family gathering on a Saturday afternoon is shaken when the elderly and ailing father
announces his desire to travel alone to America, emphasizing: "e "If I die, leave me there."
Around the kubbeh soup pot, each of his three children chooses to cope differently with this
surprising wish. A film about the irresolvable tension between the individual and the family,
and the yearning for freedom.

MEET THE director
Q&A with the writer & director Shirit Gal Kedar
Shirit Gal Kedar is a British / Israeli Freelance journalist based in London for the past nineteen years, focusing on entertainment, mainly film. Over the past sixteen years, Shirit has conducted print and on-camera interviews with hundreds of the industry’s top names.
Shirit wrote and directed the short film “Leave me there” (2025), that is about to embark on its festivals journey. She also wrote, directed and produced (together with Frank Burke) the short film “Mr. Punchbag” (2019). The film was well received in festivals around the world and was included in the official selection The London Independent Film Festival, Dingle International Film Festival, Manhattan Film Festival, Indie Short Fest, Filmstock 12, Lighthouse International Film Festival and more. Shirit is currently in the writing stages of two other projects.
